The areas of today
The science that studies substance is named chemistry. It was born out of alchemy, an old science which studied, among other things, to create the elixir of life and do gold from iron. The main purpose of the today's chemists is to study the reactions which are happening on the molecular level and get known more about the processes happen between different matters. It is also very necessary to determine the laws to have the chance to generate the needed matters from other ones. Chemistry interacts very closely with biology and physics.
Inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry analytical chemistry, physical and biological chemistry are the parts of general term “Chemistry”.
The name of organic chemistry was proposed because scientists thought that the organic components have the relation to the life. It was an incorrect thought. As it turned out, lots of organic elements are not related to any living organisms of life processes. On the contrary, lots of inorganic elements are essential for some life organisms, for instance, cooper and iron.
The substances which comprise carbon and hydrogen are the first objects of researches provided by organic chemistry. Thanks to it year by year the humanity get known more and more about it and that knowledge is very useful. A huge amount of various products which we utilize in everyday life has been invented with help of organic elements.
Analytical chemistry studies composition of organic and inorganic substances. The molecules and atoms of the substance are examined in details by that science. It also executes the studies to define the combination and features of given elements. Analytical chemistry is experimental in nature and in this way it is similar to physical chemistry. The scientists that work in this field bring much for the saving of natural resources and the defense of the environment.
