First transistor was created in Bell's laboratory in 1949. This event impacted on the quick development of semiconductor devices. Since then many people all over the world become interested in such type of matter as semiconductors.
A lot of physicists perform a huge amount of researches just to gain more knowledge about such feature of semiconductors as stimulated radiation. By usage of such principles as p - n barriers and heterojunction physicists managed to create laser device in the beginning of the 60's.
